April 25, 2012

Dear covenant family, George Muller, a remarkable missionary, lived in England at the turn of the 19th Century. He was concerned for his country men. They no longer expected God to do anything unusual. They had so little faith. God led him to do a work that could only be explained by the people as an act of God. The verse out of Psalm 81:10 ’Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it’ marked his life. He never asked for any money, but throughout his life time channeled 8 million dollars devoted to take care of the poor. He wanted God to fully take the initiative in all he faced. And this experience wasn’t exclusively meant for George – it’s available for all of us. Psalm 81 offers us some very practical guidelines in watching ‘God take the initiative’ in our series ‘Experiencing God’. It has been an eye opener for me this week, and I pray it will be for you also. Prayer & Praise Requests: Evie – health. Evie wasn’t feeling well this morning and was taken to the emergency room. I am at the hospital writing this, but it looks like she will be given the approval to go home and seems to be doing fine. Pray for health and God’s favor on her life. Dawn (daughter of Bill & Ann Bratberg) – is doing better. Bill and Ann send a thank you to all those who prayed. Naomi’s uncle who lives in Northern Illinois died today. Pray for Naomi and the family – comfort in grief, and for Evadell, his sister, who has been very close to him all her life. Dana – resident at the Manor seeking help in driving time, including some time today. Call 760-1616 to sign up.
