Dear covenant family, It’s always interesting to watch people who don’t know our family figure out our family relationships. You can almost watch them think: “Who comes from where?” I met another adoptive father of a diverse family once who told me that he had been tempted to ask those inquirers – as he looked at his wife - : “Do you think I should be worried?”. Did you know God is actually ‘worried’ about us – so worried he calls himself ‘jealous’ – and that that jealousy has huge consequences for the way in which we live our life? Join us this Sunday as we look at the second commandment, realizing that a jealous God is going to great extents simply asking for …. You! You shall not make for yourself an idol. “Should He be worried?” Thank you A big thank you to everyone for making this past Sunday a day to remember for those getting baptized and their families and friends. Your love for the Lord, welcome to new visitors, extra food you brought, hospitality, cleaning, setting up, fixing the grounds, etc… was a testimony to the Love of God for people in our community. Many of our visitors commented on how they enjoyed the service and the hospitality. We give all the Glory to God and thank you for your help! Prayer & Praise Requests Individuals: Howard Davis – family thanks you for your prayers. Howard returned Monday evening and is at home, recovering. Feel free to call him and wish him well at 756-4154 Dick & Gwen Slater – family thanks you for your prayers. Dick attended his 87th birthday party in Minnesota. Pray for strength to recover from the trip. Jacalyn Nesser’s friend, Suzi Tripp was diagnosed with lung cancer. She knows the Lord Wanda Pruett – scheduled for cataract surgery in October. Has also been diagnosed with a weakening of the cornia, which may require additional surgery. Pray for healing and an earlier appointment with the doctor.
