September 26, 2012

Dear covenant family,

Ex 20:16 –‘you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor’

He is a handsome and charming undercover cop with the mission to extract information from the vulnerable and beautiful girl. Under the disguise of his winning smile he takes her out for a romantic dinner and during a late night moonlit walk along the river front she finally ends up telling him what he was looking for. If you’ve seen this movie, or another one just like it, you know what is next: She finds out what he is really after and is furious, hurt and runs away. By this time he has fallen in love with her and runs after her to prove to her that he is not who she thinks he is. Did you know that Hollywood mimics the story of Jacob? This Sunday, as we continue our series on the Ten Commandments, we will discover how Jacob lied and twisted the truth, and it ended up costing him dearly. How did God save him from all of this? Let’s find out this Sunday as we look at ‘Honest to God’

Help the Hungry Work Day

Join us again this Friday, September 28 from 8.00 – 12.00 as we help the Ministerial Alliance with the construction/remodeling/painting/set-up of the Thrift Store and Food Pantry in their brand new facility. We will end the morning with (optional) lunch at Ryan’s Steakhouse. Any moveable, workable bodies are welcome. No experience required. Directions to the new facility @ Holly Tree Shopping Mall (between Solid Rock Church and Carpet One; right off Hwy 67 just north of Farmington) Directions: Coming from Hwy 67 North, take the Colton Steakhouse exit, make a right at the stop sign. After about .5 mile make a right (look for Signs: Solid Rock Church & Carpet One). Follow road toward church and shopping mall, make a left when it dead ends. Holly Tree shopping mall is on your left. Park at the right side of the building from Hwy 67 South. Make a left at the end of the ramp, then follow directions as mentioned above coming from the North (right at the stop sign, etc…)
