Dear Covenant family,
It may come as no surprise to you that our swimming pool is
closed this time of year. But enough rain water is collected on the pool cover to
make our soccer balls wet when they land on it. Playing with a wet slippery
ball can be a challenge. It slips out of your hands and slides of your feet in
ways you wouldn’t expect. It reminds me of Mercy. It slips out of our hands so
easy – yet we all are in desperate need of it. Come and find out this Sunday
how Mercy’s Journey in the Gospel of Luke begins with two characters – Zechariah
and Elizabeth – and guess what, they’re just like us. They found Mercy to be
slippery too!
Expect in the next 4 Advent Sundays to look at Jesus through
the eyes of
Mary (Dec 9)
Cantata Characters (Dec 16)
Simeon (Dec 23).
White Elephant Gift
Exchange:
It’s time for the annual white elephant gift exchange! Here
is how you participate: Find something in your house (no trash please) that you
no longer need, but that could be of great help, use or cause for a good laugh
for someone else. Wrap your gift and bring it with you on Sunday evening,
December 16th. After you have opened your gift, you may ‘trade it
in’ with anyone else who has already received his/her gift. Lots of fun! We
will start with a soup dinner at 5pm
and gift exchange at 6pm. Bring soup,
breads, crackers, cheese, nibbles, fruit or cookies.
