May 15, 2013

Dear Covenant family,

‘In the thirtieth year, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God’ – Ez 1:1

Have you ever watched those tightrope balancers? If I imagine myself doing the same thing I can almost feel the sweat break out on my face. What if I fall? Look at that drop! In Chapter 17 of ‘the Story’ the Southern Kingdom Juda also fell. At that time the prophet Ezekiel arrives on the scene with a strong prophetic ministry, warning them of the coming exile and encouraging them with a promise of future deliverance. In the midst of this ‘messy’ situation Gods first words to Ezekiel were not about the people, their sins or the impending danger. God begins his revelations by revealing himself. He ‘saw visions of God’. God reveals himself as a being with four faces. It’s a balancing act within the Godhead, identifying with four characters. You will be surprised to learn that when these four attributes are applied in your life, they will bring balance in many areas – allowing you to walk on the tight rope of life successfully, avoiding it’s pitfalls. I look forward to seek balance with you this Sunday as we seek the Life of Christ!

In preparation for this Sunday, please read Chapter 17 in ‘the Story’ and for those who want to ‘dig deeper’ read the book of Ezekiel.
