July 31, 2013

Dear Covenant family,

‘They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” John 4:42

Both my boys recently obtained brand new soccer jerseys. FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC are now proudly portrayed around the house and even in church this past Sunday. Being around their favorite soccer starts and teams has changed them – it is evident in what they wear, even what they pray for…

Experiencing Change is the immediate result of being around Jesus. He changes the way you look, feel, act and think as one look at Him changes you forever. This Sunday Gary Pruett will bring us a message of a God who is in the changing business, called: “BC-AC; the Difference’!

2 Special Sundays: Kick Off ‘the Story’ (8/14) & International Students (8/21)

Sunday, August 11 we’ll schedule the kick off of ‘the Story’ with a family style worship service and potluck lunch afterwards. It will mark the start of our growth groups and is a great opportunity to join an existing growth group as we will have all three growth groups (North, Central and South) meet during and after lunch. If you are not currently part of a growth group you are warmly invited to join one that day.

Then on August 18 we will welcome our international students from Columbia with a potluck lunch after the service. The service will include a clear Gospel Presentation for our international friends.

Resource – Healing from Past Experiences (sexual abuse)

You are invited to join Parkland PRC and Esther Baptist Church as they co-host a FREE Workshop: “Being the Light in the Darkness.” August 24, 2013, 9:30am to 2:30pm. Lunch is included, childcare is available. Please RSVP 573-431-6001.

Amber McCutcheon, PRC H.O.P.E. (Healing Our Past Experiences) Class Instructor will present this Workshop. She is a survivor of sexual abuse and wants to help you help others by explaining truths of how survivors cope, how perpetrators work, and how to start the healing process. Some of the information is taken from “Steps to Sexual Health,” by Dr. Doug Weiss. Location: Esther Baptist Church, 412 7th Street, Park Hills, MO.

Kari Mission Trip October

Kari has been asked to teach at a Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Training school in Florida from October 14 - 22. She will be preparing students in language learning for church planting purposes. It has been 10 years since she has ministered this way. She is asking prayer for the preparation and trip. She will go with both the girls and Kari’s parents have volunteered to help baby sit them during her time in Florida.
