Dear Covenant family,
‘The Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One
and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth’ John 1:14
‘Are we there yet?’ the voice in the backseat asks. It’s an
all too familiar event for anyone who has traveled with little kids. You may
have asked yourself the same question in these last chapters of ‘the Story’ as
we continually saw how God loved Israel, yet Israel was continually unable to
live up to their end of the relationship. But this Sunday we will arrive at our
destination! The frustration of our inabilities gets swallowed up in the
magnificence of a Savior – who came to seek and save what was lost – you and
me! When an angel told shepherds about it, they responded by saying: ‘let’s go
to Bethlehem and see this thing
that has happened’. Let’s do the same this Sunday as we look at God’s
breathtaking solution to the problem of humanity, and stand in awe at the birth
of ‘the One and Only’ (John 1:14 ).
For this Sunday please read Chapter 22 in ‘the Story’ (Matt. 1 & 2,
Luke 1 & 2, John 1)

Morning class: Tuesday, September 10 - November 19 at

Explore the fascinating account of the building of the
Old Testament tabernacle, the significance of its intricate design, its pivotal
role in God's eternal plan, the grand fulfillment of its purpose by Jesus
Christ, and its variety of meanings for your walk with God today. Perhaps no
Old Testament event so dramatically illustrates God's persistent desire to
relate to His children as the building of the tabernacle in the wilderness. You
will be challenged to prepare your heart, like the holy of holies, to become a
home for His love and glory — a dwelling place for the Most High God.
The price of the workbooks is $16.00. We would love to
know how many children to expect and which class. Please sign up by contacting Naomi Smith of
Jan Gainer.
