Dear Covenant family,
It’s confession time….I’ve been looking at the Ford F-150 Series Pick Up truck and recently the Silverado Pick Up truck. With a projected highway mileage of around 25 mpg, both power machines have come within the reach of my ‘gas budget’ as I drive back and forth to the church. More Power for Less Money. Exchanging my vehicle for a truck would mean I could do so much more – driving to my cabin, hauling stuff and feeling like the all American Man – with a Dutch accent. Will I do it? I will take the fifth on answering that question for now, but I do desire to daily exchange my low power machine for His Greater Power. I’d like to enjoy the privilege to see God do so much more in and through my life – more than my own ‘vehicle’ could ever accomplish! That is the promise of Acts 1:8: ‘you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,, and you will be my witnesses’. Apart from the thrill of driving a new vehicle, wouldn’t you agree that this world is in desperate need of a church filled with His Spirit to bring about the much needed change in our hearts and those around us? Join us this Sunday as we discover this awesome promise of being filled with the Spirit. Please read Chapter 29 of ‘the Story’ in preparation.
Thank you!
Thank you church family for your many encouraging words on
the thank you card and for your gift you gave us this Sunday during the
Quarterly Meeting. You all are such a blessing to me and my family. Thank you
for allowing us to serve the Lord with you!
