November 6, 2013

Dear Covenant family,

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. – Acts 20:24

I look forward to our vision and planning meeting this Thursday –tomorrow- at 6 pm at CBC. We plan to start by reviewing the various drafts that have been made of our Kingdom Concept – the unique calling of our church, and then hope to continue to look at strategy and measures. Why is this time so important? This week we are reading in ‘the Story’ Chapter 30 that Paul had a very distinctive calling. Everything else he did was derived from Gods Call:  the direction of ministry, choosing of priorities, trials he encountered and sacrifices made. Paul knew his call. It was to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles.
The same applies to us as we look at our unique Kingdom Concept. What is our calling and our Mission? We pray that in the months to come everything we by faith set out to do will be in accordance with a deep understanding of God’s call on our church, guided by His Spirit. And I pray that the same passion that Paul had may become ours as we go through this process: ‘to testify to the gospel of the grace of God’. In preparation for Sunday, please read Chapter 30 in ‘the Story’.

Thank you from the Edgar’s
We are so grateful to have been a part of such a special, loving church. Thank you for all the open hearts! The apostle Paul talked of ‘Opening wide your hearts to one another’. This is your gift. Jesus be praised for your love – in Jesus together forever - the Edgars
