December 4, 2013

Dear Covenant family,

My girls love any knock on our front door. Their feet rush to the door to find out: “Who is there?”, as they are ready to welcome any guest in. The Advent Season (‘advent’ means coming) is like waiting for that front door knock. Yet we know who is coming. In order to get your feet ready to run to Him, join us by reading a select group of Scripture Verses.  Please take time to enjoy these verses – they will be emailed to you each week in the weekly email and are also printed in the bulletin each week. Because the Coming Savior is knocking at your door!  Let’s open it wide! This Sunday we will look at Him as our Liberator, out of Isaiah 52.

“Awake, awake,
put on your strength, O
Zion;
put on your beautiful garments,
O
Jerusalem, the holy city;
for there shall no more come into you
the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Shake yourself from the dust and arise;
be seated, O
Jerusalem;
loose the bonds from your neck,
O captive daughter of
Zion.

How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to
Zion, “Your God reigns.” – Isaiah 52:1,2 and 7 (ESV)

Winter Weather at CBC
As a general rule, services are cancelled when the Farmington School District cancels school. We do this in order not to endanger anyone traveling to and from the church and also while being on the church property. If services are cancelled, we will do our best to contact you by email or text as well to let you know about this. If you are ever unsure about whether or not services are being held, please feel free to call the church at 747-0001 or any of the elders/Marco at 366-0787.

Men’s Bible Study
We are looking forward to hear from Steve Caldwell who will be giving his testimony this Saturday. If there is a cancellation due to weather we will make this decision Friday at 6 pm, and send out an email at that time.

Give this Christmas - Gifts to St. Francois manor residents.
The staff has asked for stocking hats and gloves, individual cans of soda, headphones, and candies to be given the residents.  They said they are thrilled with you all giving to them!!  We have been given socks, hygiene items, personal tissues and Christmas stockings in which to put the gifts. The manor is having a party mid December.  We would like contributions by December 12 please. You can bring them to church this Sunday. If you want to help, please contact Naomi at 747-6882
