August 20,2014

Dear Covenant family,

‘But at your word I will let down the nets.” – Luke 5:5 (ESV)

I thank God for what He did among us in this past week of prayer and fasting! Thank you for seeking Him individually throughout the week and together on Saturday as we worked on ‘casting our nets’. As a reminder to those that were there, and to include those that couldn’t make it, here is a list of things we came up with in order to ‘cast our nets’:

Our personal nets:

1. Invite folks to church. Be intentional in reaching out to your friends through prayer and being open to the Lord’s leading

2. Ask God to pour out His Love in our hearts

3. Intercession for breakthrough in their lives

Our corporate nets:

1. Leave last two rows open for visitors

2. Growth Group promotion: Each group to create a promo page with narrative and picture. Print this and make it available in lobby for hand out to visitors and post it on the wall

3. Mount TV in lobby with ‘loop’ DVD with CBC pictures/info

4. Create facebook Page

5. Update website

6. Create info CBC cards (times, location, info) to take with you to hand out during week

7. Create teams of Greeters who:

  • Welcome people at the door
  • Make sure visitors receive guest card
  • Open & close sanctuary doors
  • Follow up with gift and small talk after service

8. Create schedule for 5 nursery workers

9. Create schedule for 3 to 4 children church workers

10. Start Youth Ministry

  • teens to participate in program
  • reach out to un-churched teens and families/sports
  • held at the van Raalten’s initially

11. Sports Sunday – Service with Sports Theme – in conjunction with youth ministry

12. Elders to provide training and tools for evangelism

13. Community Outreach:

Local Community Survey – Sept 14th at 5.00 pm

  • Visit neighbors and ask them if there is anything we can pray for and/or any we can serve them.
  • Some to go out, some to stay at church and pray

Follow up with Harvest Fest – Saturday, Sept. 28 at 5.00 pm, organized by Central Growth Group. Bonfire, marshmallows, etc…

Follow up with Possible Service Project on a Saturday

14. North Growth Group – Terre du Lac neighborhood initiative; friendship builder

15. Research Prayer Booth as outreach opportunity

16. Research Missions Trip to Togo, W. Africa and/or other location

We will keep you posted in the coming weeks as we work on further details of these initiatives.
