Dear Covenant family,

 

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ’ – 2 Cor 10:5

 

This Sunday we look forward to have Brycen Marner with us. Brycen is the youth and associate pastor at Salem Evangelical Free Church in Florissant/Ferguson; and directs ‘the Kulture’ – a multi-ethnic youth ministry that reaches out into the community. He will enlighten us on what to expect during our church outreach - scheduled for July 11, both in Sunday School and during the main service. Apart from his pastoral credentials, he is also the brother of Megan Viox.

This Sunday we look forward to have our ladies and mothers with us, as we honor them on Mother’s Day. Our ladies and mothers (whether they have children on their own or have loved kids in other ways) seem to have a front row understanding of the incredible love of Christ, as they pour their lives into others. Let’s honor them this Sunday.

This Sunday we look forward to have the Lord with us. That may sound cliché, but it is huge! Whenever we gather in His Name, He will be there. Pastor Brycen and I will be preaching on #3 of ‘Our Mission’: Our Warfare: talking about the spiritual warfare we encounter.

And I look forward to have you with us, because it is only when we come together, that we create a place in which He likes to show up.

May this Sunday be all about Jesus, loving each other (including our ladies) and reaching out into the world (Florissant/Ferguson)

Women’s Bible Study ‘Breath’ by Beth Moore

‘Breath, The Life of God in Us’ is a lecture series by Beth Moore reflecting on the person, the work and the power of the Holy Spirit. Centered on DVD-based teaching from Beth Moore, Breath examines the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Its title is drawn from the words of John 20:22, which records that Jesus "breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" (6 sessions)

Byron and Crystal are currently visiting Byron’s sister Kim’s family in Columbus, Ohio for the funeral

Al Gainer received some mixed news: doctor isn’t too concerned about prostrate, but does recommend hormones for a while longer

Jackie Nasser’s dad made it good through surgery. He broke his leg Sunday.
